About Me
I’m Austin Brown, a passionate mechanical engineer with a keen interest in the intersection of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computer science. My expertise lies in robotic and mechatronic systems, where I strive to innovate and make a meaningful impact.
Education
I will be graduating with a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University in April 2025. During my graduate studies, I’ve worked as a Research Assistant in the SMASH Lab, focusing on developing models and simulation software for tensegrity robotics systems.
Prior to my master’s degree, I earned a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science from the same institution, graduating in April 2023.
Personal Life
I got married to my amazing wife on June 1st, 2024!
Hobbies
3D Printing
I love 3D printing! I now have a Bambu Lab P1S with AMS that I love. I have hundreds of hours of printing on it. Before that I had an Ender 3V2 that I did just about every mod possible on.
I love the community sharing so many files for free to print, but I primary print files I’ve designed.
Rock Climbing
I also love the outdoors; I grew up hiking and camping all over the PNW. Since being in Utah I’ve fallen in love with the amazing rock climbing all around the state. I’ve now climbed all throughout Washington, Idaho and Utah.
Reading
In my spare time I also love reading, especially epic fantasy books. I’ve read all of Brandon Sanderson’s cosmere!
